Participating in the Top Young Innovators program as a semi finalist has been one of the most inspiring and educational experiences in my innovation journey so far. The program created an environment filled with creativity, entrepreneurship, problem solving, and futuristic thinking, allowing young innovators to explore how technology and innovation can create meaningful real-world impact.

As part of the program, I presented my project called Muttasil, an IoT-based smart mosque connectivity system designed to improve accessibility, organization, and user experience within mosque environments. The project integrates technologies such as Raspberry Pi systems, live dashboards, prayer timing management, crowd monitoring, and smart accessibility tools to help create a more connected and efficient environment for worshippers.

One of the most valuable parts of the Top Young Innovators experience was participating in the innovation camp organized for selected participants. The camp was focused not only on developing projects, but also on developing the mindset required to think like an innovator. Through interactive sessions, collaborative workshops, discussions, and mentorship activities, I learned how innovators approach challenges, identify problems, structure ideas, and transform concepts into practical and impactful solutions.

The innovation camp emphasized creativity, adaptability, teamwork, leadership, and critical thinking. It taught us that innovation is not simply about building advanced technology, but about understanding real-world problems and designing solutions that can genuinely improve people’s lives. One of the most important lessons I learned was how innovators continuously improve ideas through feedback, testing, experimentation, and refinement.

Throughout the program, presenting Muttasil to mentors, judges, and participants became a highly valuable learning experience. Explaining the technical structure of the project, its purpose, and its real-world applications helped strengthen my communication and presentation skills significantly. It also improved my ability to simplify technical concepts and present them in a clear and structured way.

Muttasil itself was developed with the goal of improving the overall mosque experience through smart technologies. The system focuses on improving accessibility and communication while also helping worshippers access important information efficiently. Features such as live dashboards, smart monitoring systems, prayer timing integration, and crowd analysis were designed to demonstrate how IoT systems can be integrated into community-focused environments in practical and meaningful ways.

Another memorable aspect of the experience was interacting with other young innovators from different backgrounds and fields of technology. Seeing projects related to artificial intelligence, sustainability, robotics, automation, and digital systems created a highly motivating environment filled with creativity and inspiration. Listening to different ideas and approaches helped broaden my understanding of innovation and encouraged me to think beyond traditional solutions.

The mentorship and feedback received throughout the program also played a major role in improving both the project and my perspective on innovation. Discussions with mentors and professionals encouraged deeper thinking about scalability, usability, impact, and future development possibilities. These conversations helped me better understand how successful projects evolve from simple ideas into solutions capable of creating long-term value.

Beyond the technical and presentation aspects, the program also strengthened my confidence, leadership abilities, and teamwork skills. Working in an innovation-focused environment taught me how important collaboration, communication, and adaptability are when developing projects under pressure and refining ideas continuously.

Becoming a semi finalist in Top Young Innovators was a meaningful achievement, but the overall learning experience became even more valuable than the recognition itself. The journey helped me grow not only as a student developer, but also as a problem solver and innovator who is motivated to continue building technology-driven solutions with real-world impact.

Participating in Top Young Innovators has been an experience focused not only on competition, but also on growth, creativity, leadership, collaboration, and learning how to think differently while solving meaningful challenges through innovation and technology.
