My Two Day Experience at GIS Technova 2025 with LearnTrack

Third place certificate awarded at GIS Technova 2025 for the LearnTrack project

Participating in the two day GIS Technova competition hosted at Global Indian School was an exciting and highly memorable experience that combined innovation, teamwork, and technology in a competitive environment filled with creative student ideas.

Along with my team, I proudly represented Habitat School while presenting our project called LearnTrack, an AI powered productivity and educational application developed using MIT App Inventor. The purpose of the project was to create a system that could help students improve productivity, focus, and learning efficiency by integrating practical AI-powered tools into everyday student life.

The competition took place over two days, and each day brought a different experience. The first day focused on setting up the presentation booth, introducing the application to visitors and judges, and demonstrating how the platform functioned. Presenting LearnTrack repeatedly throughout the day helped improve my confidence and communication skills while teaching me the importance of clearly explaining technical ideas in an engaging and understandable way.

One of the core features of LearnTrack was the Socratic AI Tutor system, designed to guide students toward understanding concepts through interactive explanations and questioning rather than simply giving direct answers. The app also included productivity features such as Pomodoro timers that encouraged students to manage study sessions effectively and improve concentration while learning.

Another feature that received attention during the presentation was the use of OCR technology that could help students understand diagrams and educational visuals more effectively. Integrating AI into practical learning experiences made the application more interactive and useful for students across different subjects.

Throughout the first day, our team continuously improved demonstrations and refined explanations based on feedback and observations. The experience of interacting with different audiences helped us better understand how users respond to educational technology and what makes a digital learning platform more impactful.

The second day of GIS Technova felt even more energetic and competitive. By then, we had become more comfortable presenting the project and demonstrating its features to judges and participants. The atmosphere throughout the event was highly inspiring, with students showcasing innovative projects focused on artificial intelligence, STEM, productivity, and problem solving.

One of the most valuable lessons from the competition was the importance of teamwork and adaptability. Collaborating under pressure, solving unexpected issues, and supporting one another throughout the event strengthened both our communication and project development skills.

At the end of the competition, our team was honored to receive Third Place. Receiving the award while representing Habitat School Al Jurf Ajman was an unforgettable moment that reflected the dedication, teamwork, creativity, and effort invested into LearnTrack throughout the preparation and presentation process.

Beyond the achievement itself, GIS Technova 2025 was a valuable learning experience that strengthened my interest in educational technology and artificial intelligence. It showed how AI can be integrated into real student environments to improve learning, productivity, and accessibility in meaningful ways.
